MY LAKE
A bright teenager, Kristo, lives in a remote village on Lake Prespa, where Albania, Macedonia, and Greece meet. To support his struggling family, he smuggles marijuana across the lake using his fishing boat. He idolizes the two dealers he works for—ruthless Ismail and the more principled Pasko. As Kristo develops feelings for his teacher Miranda, he begins to question his path. When Ismail makes a violent play for control, Kristo is attacked, and Pasko is killed in a police ambush. Blamed by the community, Kristo seeks redemption. He outwits Ismail, leading to his downfall, and destroys the drug money. The story returns to Kristo in class, finishing his essay—reflecting on the lake that shaped his journey.
